Summary
This was taken in one of the wet season creeks in steep rainforest country. Many of the rainforest trees have very marked buttress roots to help hold the tree more firmly in the softer soil in constant rain. This is also typical of the way the roots and rocks are found together. I had a bad fall a bit after this when part of the ground gave way and I went backwards down a slope and crashed into a rock heavily. Sore and sorry for some weeks, but the interesting thing I remember is immediately thinking I had to protect my camera while falling!!!
