Summary

Equatorial mountains on Pluto, rising as high as 3500 meters above mean ground level.

The geology team for the New Horizons mission consider these mountains "young" and cannot at present (15 July 2015) explain that finding.

The annotation gives a fifty-mile scale to the photograph.
