Summary
he tour of the archaeological dig here was one of the highlights of our visits. This is the original bronze-age city of Jerusalem, built by the Jebusites on the ridge to the south of the much newer 'Old City' and captured by King David. Some archaeologists believe the structures unearthed here to represent King David's palace. While the verdict's not quite in, it certainly makes sense.
It also certainly explains the setup when the Bible talks about David looking down on Bathsheba, bathing on the roof of her house below, and coveting her.
