Summary

A view through the window of an AMD 27128 ultraviolet-erasable EPROM, revealing the UV-sensitive silicon chip at the heart. The chip was manufactured in 1982, and commonly used to store data such as configuration settings or a basic input-output system (BIOS) in electronic devices prior to the commercialisation of more convenient EEPROM and NAND flash components
