The chemical structure of a single subunit of the KR1 capsular polysaccharide of Sinorhizobium fredii strain USDA205, as indicated in Reuhs, B. L., Carlson, R. W., & Kim, J. S. (1993) "Rhizobium fredii and Rhizobium meliloti produce 3-deoxy-D-manno-2-octulosonic acid-containing polysaccharides that are structurally analogous to group II K antigens (capsular polysaccharides) found in Escherichia coli."
