Summary
The photograph now called "Ptp" was examined by the physicist Clifford Paiva and by the forensic videographer Jonathan Whitcomb. They found evidences that the photo was taken before about the year 1870. The apparent flying creature shown was examined in detail and found to be an image of an actual animal, with biological structure in the wings that is very different from building materials that might be expected in the case of a hoax construction during the 19th century. In addition, the form of the head resembles that of a Pteranodon (pterosaur), with details not at all commonly known before the early 20th century.
