Summary

The egg collar of a moon snail looks so strange and out-of-place at the beach that a lot of people pick them up when they're cleaning up trash. It looks sort of industrial (like a tire wall made of sand or a rubber plunger), so I can see how it confuses folks. It's really a dense "sandwich" of sand/eggs/sand all bound together with mucous. Yum.
