Summary

Photographing this orchid was really tricky:

1) there was only one decent flowering spike;

2) it was located in deep shade under prickly shrubs;

3) I didn't have a tripod or anything to brace the camera against;

4) the weather was very changeable - the sun kept disappearing behind the clouds;

5) the ground was liberally scattered with dog's droppings.

All in all, it was one of the few occasions when I wish that I carried more camera gear around with me!
