Summary
Liquid oxygen sprays out of a hose as a cryogenics technician disconnects it from a 50-gallon tank outside the cryogenics compound at Cherry Point Jan. 22. The liquid oxygen is used to help supply pure oxygen into the cabin of the aircraft to allow pilots and passengers to breathe, for this reason the Marines at cryogenics will not distribute any of their 50-gallon tanks to units unless it is at minimum 99.5 percent oxygen, said Lance Cpl. Daniel Hernandez, a cryogenics technician.
