Description English: Columbite Locality: Newry, Oxford County, Maine, USA (Locality at mindat.org) Size: 9.4 x 7.0 x 5.0 cm. A large, 5.4 x 4.2 cm, lustrous, platy, battleship-gray columbite crystal is embedded in albite and smoky quartz matrix on this fine and classic, old-time specimen from the pegmatites at Newry, Maine. This is a very large crystal for the species from this historic locale. Excellent combination material. Ex. Mullane Collection and accompanied by an older, faded paper label.
