Lungfish are freshwater lobe-finned fishes belonging to the subclass Dipnoi. Lungfish has the ability to breathe air.

Lungfish are found in Africa, South America and Australia. The australian lungfish, Neoceratodus forsteri, is the least specialized among the the three lungfish genera.[1] The African and South American lungfish are capable of surviving seasonal drying out of their habitats breathing air during prolonged periods of drought.
