The Ten Commandments (Creationism vs. Science)

From CreationWiki, the encyclopedia of creation science

This article by Michael Wong is the first in his series on "Biblical immorality". The worst flaw of this particular article is the claim that God gave the Israelites two "contradicting" sets of commandments. The first set, given in Exodus 20:2 to 20:17, is the one we are most familiar with. When Moses was later instructed by God to chisel out two more tablets (after the first were broken on the golden calf), he chiseled the exact same writing. Since the commandments had already been listed in chapter 20, there was no need to repeat them a second time in the text. The alleged "second set", found in Exodus 34:12 through 34:26, is not a different "set" but a covenant made by God with the Israelites later.
