Summary
English: Replication of the Urey-Miller experiment. By passing electrical sparks through mixtures of hydrogen, methane, ammonia, and water vapor, scientists produced colored amino acids, the building blocks of organic life. The experiment was first performed by Stanley Miller in 1953 and has now been repeated many times elsewhere. These photographs show an experiment at NASA-Ames Research Center's Chemical Evolution Branch.
Français : Reproduction de l'expérience de Urey-Miller. En faisant passer des arcs électriques à travers un mélange d'hydrogène, de méthane, d'ammoniac et de vapeur d'eau, des scientifiques ont produit des acides aminés, blocs de base de la vie. L'expérience a été effectuée la première fois par Stanley Miller, en 1953, et a été plusieurs fois répétée depuis par d'autres. Cette photographie montre l'expérience reproduite au centre de recherche de la NASA-Ames, au département d'évolution chimique.
