RE: Semantic anotation

Thanks for the comment! I have also created a chemical template which can now be used for elements (I will adapt it for use with compounds as well in the future) and does semantic annotation automatically. --Rucas 13:42, 16 January 2008 (EST)

Hellenism and Hell

Have you noticed there's a connection between modern conceptions of Heaven and Hell, and Greek mythology? For instance, Hell is a giant underground torture factory, where demons torment the damned with pitchforks. Now, if you're familiar with the Greek conception of Hades, you'll note that in their myths the Furies tortured the condemned. Now, we have demons doing it. Also, Hades ruled the underworld...and now, in "Christian" thought, Satan rules it. How is it that we've managed to take a very serious topic and contort it into nothing but a myth? Can't we see how dangerous that is? Scorpionman 22:45, 24 January 2008 (EST)

Well, you've got one concept down pat--that too many people have overlain the concept of hell with extra-Biblical and even extra-Christian ideas. Our best defense agains that sort of thinking is the truth.--TemlakosTalk 23:27, 24 January 2008 (EST)

Thanks

Thanks for fixing the format that i made about the sun and nuclear fusion. --EdgarMSalazar 22:10, 6 March 2008 (PST)

Links

For future reference, in case that user or any other user leaves links of the type that you just took off the Astronomy article, what policy should I follow, in case I notice it first? I appreciate your taking care of things, but if I can take care of such matters earlier next time, I'd like to know how and under what guideline.--TemlakosTalk 08:43, 12 March 2008 (PDT)

Links that question the claims of the article are permitted. The links section should simply separated into "creationist" and "secular" sections. I removed the Astronomy link because it was to a site of especially low quality - a blog of somewhat random content, which was redundantly placed on another page.

Its really a case by case judgement. The authors intend weighs heavily in this case as all links placed were anticreation in nature. --Mr. Ashcraft - (talk) 08:57, 12 March 2008 (PDT)

SMW_DV_HxDate.php

Hi, my name's Robert Murphy and I use your "Historical Date" type for SemanticMediaWiki on my wiki ReformedWord. Everything runs fine, but when I recently ran SMW_refreshdata.php I saw a gazillion error messages regarding line 367 in the code (undefined variable). I got my copy of your code from the SemanticMediaWiki users' mailing list so maybe you've got a different line number... it looks like this:

if ($abbr == "OS" || $year <= 1582) {

Now I know very little PHP, but it looks to me like everywhere else you use the hash $this->year. Does this look like a change I/we ought to make to the code??!? --Aquatiki 18:11, 31 March 2008 (PDT)

Case Against Faith

Hey there, I've come across a site that I found at least interesting if not stupid ([1]) and was wondering if anyone here was interested in a rebuttal. He's got a large critique of Lee Strobel's Case for a Creator and since that deals mainly with evolution and design I thought it might be appropriate for a refutation on this site. What do you think? Scorpionman 07:23, 3 April 2008 (PDT)

Good point, but I still think it's a good idea, in case anybody else is interested. Perhaps I could start one and whoever finds it interesting can continue it. Scorpionman 16:07, 3 April 2008 (PDT)
I think this site probably deserves some attention, unless of course they're just repeating what Talk.Origins has already put out. Scorpionman 10:24, 12 April 2008 (PDT)
Well I suppose you're right, I think it does essentially repeat Talk.Origins, albeit to a lesser degree of credibility. Scorpionman 19:26, 14 April 2008 (PDT)
You ever see this article from the Discover magazine? Kinda disturbing Scorpionman 17:58, 15 April 2008 (PDT)
Of course the experiments are always kept under careful control too, if they create life it will only go to show how intelligence is behind it. Morris already dealt with it in Scientific Creationism. Scorpionman 20:55, 15 April 2008 (PDT)

Found it. It was missing a terminator </div>.
