Trematodes are parasitic flatworms, known as flukes, that are divided into the two sub-classes aspidogastra and digenea. Only the digenea infect human beings. Flukes are longer than wide and tend to a point at each end so that they are termed to be rhomboidal in shape though some are even flagon shaped.
