The Bible is a collection of short books recording the history of the world, the Jewish people, the life of Jesus, and the early Christian Church. Creationists hold a number of views regarding the Reliability of the Bible, ranging from strict inerrancy to substantive accuracy. However, all creationists agree that the Bible is history, not mythology or allegory, because the text itself is so obviously historical in style and content.
Nebuchadnezzar II (635 BC-vr. 607 BC-r. 605 BC-562 BC) (Nabu-Kudduri-Usur Nebo, Protect My Eldest Son or Nebo, Protect the Border), or "Nebuchadrezzar" as the Prophet Jeremiah spelled his name, was King of the Chaldeans and final conqueror of the Southern Kingdom of Israel, called "Judah." He was the first of many heads-of-state of foreign superpowers to come to a possibly salvific knowledge of God. Ancient and modern historians have traditionally nicknamed him "The Great." The Septuagint spells his name as Ναβουχοδονοσορ (Nabouchodonosor).
Isaac was the son of Abraham and Sarah, born when Sarah was supposedly beyond the age of childbearing. God had promised Abraham that his descendants would inherit the land of Canaan and be a blessing to all the world, yet Abraham had no son. Seeing that she was barren, his wife had him beget a son for her on her slavegirl (a legitimate practice of that time); that boy was Ishmael. However, God had determined to bring his promise about by means which were humanly impossible, so as to demonstrate that he was in full control. Isaac was born to Sarah when Abraham was 100 years old, and Ishmael was about 14.

2 Peter 3:3-6 First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." 5But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. (NIV)
