Peter

Peter, whose original name was Simon, is considered the first Pope by the modern Catholic church. He was a contemporary eyewitness, disciple of Jesus Christ, the son of Jona (Johannes) and born in Bethsaida (John 1:42, 44). Near the end of his life he worked for and in Rome, which led up to his martyrdom for the sake of His savior.
