Jebusites
From CreationWiki, the encyclopedia of creation science
The Jebusites (Hebrew; יבוּסי, Yebûsı̂y ) are the descendants of Jebus (Hebrew: יבוּס, Yebûs), one of the sons of Canaan according to the Table of Nations in Genesis 10. The posterity of Jebus settled in the mountainous regions of Judea where, due to their strong and natural fortifications, they were able to withstand the armies of Israel. The original city of Jebus came later to be known as Jerusalem, the Urusalimmu of the Amara tablets.
