The tail of the Gila monster has four to five dark bands on it [1]. The tail is where fat deposits are stored to be used in hibernation [2]. The length in Gila monsters is diverse they are varied lengths while growing but peak out between eighteen to twenty-four inches [3]. Gila monsters weight in some where between 3-5 pounds [4]. The beaded like appearance of the Gila monster can be attributed to small rounded scales that raised at different intervals [5]. The Gila monster has strong claws [6].

Also gila monsters will "taste" the air, they have a variant of the jacobson's organ.

How do they deliver poison

Some of the Gila monsters teeth have a tubular cavity that houses a neurotoxin [7]. The poison is stored in modified saliva glands [8]. Unlike snakes, the poison only is secreted when the Gila monster bites its victim [9] Then it can gash open the wound more by biting and grinding its teeth into the flesh which mixes in more poison to the prey’s blood stream [10].

The poison is rarely fatal to humans [11].

Camouflage

The Gila monster blends in to its background, with different colored scales. This could be used to support evolution, under the lines of a former lizard adapted to its environment [12]. But then on the other hand on could say that God created them like that. But then God could also have made them almost like they are now is now, and allowed natural selection to refine the species to its changing informant? But then how do the Gila monsters know what colors to use?

Gila monsters reproduce sexually, through out the summer and early spring months. Sex takes about 60 minuets. After words the female lays between 3-13 eggs. The female then barriers the eggs in the sand, witch acts as an incubator. About four months later the eggs hatch [13].

Gila monsters like areas that are wet enough to support shrubbery but is also dry and sandy. [14] That means they can be found New Mexico and Mexico along with western Arizona well at least in the desert regions [15]. Behavior In the hot summer months Gila monsters exhibits a nocturnal routine [16][17] [18].

Niche

Gila monsters are carnivores, they keep other organisms in check. Gila monsters feast upon small creatures such as rodents, birds, eggs, lizards, frogs, children, and rotting dead things or more commonly referred to as carrion [19][20][21].
