Gad

Gad (Hebrew: גד; "luck"), (b.2192 AM 1968 BC

2192 AM), was the first Jacob and Zilpah (who was Leah's maid) and the seventh of Jacob overall. He was the ancestor of the tribe of Gad. He had eleven brothers: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, and Benjamin. He also had a sister, Dinah.

Entry into Egypt

15 Abib 2238 AM, Gad entered Egypt permanently, having visited Egypt twice before to buy grain during the famine of 2236-42 AM. He was 46 years old at the time and had seven named sons: Ziphion, Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi, and Areli.
