The Euphrates (Hebrew: פְּרָת, Pĕrāth; Arabic: الفرات, Al-Furāt; Syriac: ܦܪܬ, Prāṯ; Greek: Ευφράτης, Euphrátēs) is the western river of the two rivers that make up Mesopotamia, along with the Euphrates, which flows from the mountains of Anatolia, Turkey through Iraq.
