Dumah
From CreationWiki, the encyclopedia of creation science
Dumah (Hebrew: דּוּמה, Dûmâh; "silence") was one of the twelve sons of Ishmael listed in Genesis 25:14. Dumah gave his name to Dumah (modern Arabic Dumat al-Gandal) which is the capital of a district called Gawf halfway across northern Arabia between southern Babylonia and Palestine. His descendants may have been the Adummatu which Nabonidus claimed he conquered, he Domatha described by Ptolemy and the Dumathii by Porphyry. This may be the origin of the name Idumaeans.
