The crystalline canopy is a model of the canopy theory used as a source of the 40-day rain that fell during Noah's flood. It is envisioned as a blanket of polarized hydrogen ice crystals is believed by some to have formed a huge magnetic shield that surrounded the earth. This is not to be confused with the Dyson sphere [1]. However largely discredited by the greater, more mainstream scientific creationist community, it still holds a position to some and is worthy of discussion.

God's Word

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:1-2 (KJV)

At this point the earth is covered with water. The four firmaments had not been created yet. Which means the earth has water but no atmosphere. The surface of the water is being exposed to both the absolute zero of space (-460 degrees Fahrenheit), plus the vacuum of space. Water will boil in a vacuum at room temperature. So the water on the surface is liquid, solid, and gas. This is because it's boiling, freezing, and evaporating all at the same time.

Hydrogen boiling Point @ 1 atm: -423.0°F (-252.8°C, 20oK). Freezing Point @ 1 atm: -434.5°F (-259.2°C, 14oK). A hydrogen ice cloud formed on the surface of the water that was exposed to space. The gravity of the earth would keep the forming cloud next to the surface of the water. And because the hydrogen molecule already contains a magnetic field, they were attracted to each other which covered the earth in a blanket of hydrogen ice crystals. These crystals became polarized by the earth's magnetic field. Upon polarization, the hydrogen molecules became one huge magnetic shield that surrounded the earth.

Canopy creation

Upon the polarization of these magnetic ice crystals a great pressure was created, this was because of the size of the magnetic shield (it surrounded the whole earth), which made the hydrogen crystals phase into metallic hydrogen.

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. Genesis 1:6-8 (KJV)

At this point, firmaments one and two were created of the four firmaments that were the total firmaments at the end of creation.

Earth's atmosphere layers

Currently there are 6 layers to the earth's atmosphere. Those layers are:

  1. Troposphere.
  2. Stratosphere.
  3. Mesosphere.
  4. Thermosphere.
  5. Ionosphere.
  6. Exosphere.

Adding a Canopy makes these layers 7. 7 is God's perfect number. God often uses the numbers 3, 4, and 7 during creation as shown here: Types of Creation.

NASA shuttles and ice clouds

Strange clouds appear as NASA launches shuttles into space. Every cloud produced always heads towards the north pole. [2] [3]

Are these ice clouds similar to the clouds that formed during the canopy creation? And is their travel to the north pole an indication of them becoming magnetized, then heading to the nearest magnetic pole?

The shuttle exhaust is 97% water due to the fuel combination in which it burns. This water is the same example of how water covered the earth during the creation. This is just a tiny example of that. [4]

Can metals be transparent?

NASA astronauts wear a helmet that the shield is coated with a thin layer of gold that can be seen through. [5]

18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. Revelation 21:18,21 (KJV)

The Flood

Because of the weight of the canopy upon the atmosphere. It is believed that the barometric pressure was about twice what we have today. Low barometric pressure is required for rain clouds to form. The higher barometric pressure caused by the canopy would explain why there was no rain until the flood. Learn more about the barometric pressure, and how it affects the weather here.

And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. Three things happen to water under higher pressure:

  1. The boiling point of water is raised.
  2. The evaporating point is also raised.
  3. The high pressure atmosphere can hold more moisture. This keeps clouds from forming. Less pressure makes clouds form because the air cannot hold the extra moisture. So it builds clouds to release it.

Average barometric pressure is around 30inHg. Boiling point of water at that atmospheric pressure is about 212 degrees F. If we double the pressure to 60inHg, the boiling point rises to 267 degrees F. That is a 55 degree difference. This would make the hydro-logic cycle not work.

The fountains of the deep

When the barometric pressure fell, the water underground (fountains of the deep), were no longer being held underground by the same pressure that pushed down upon the earth's surface by the weight of the canopy that was no longer there. This would cause water that was next to heat sources and not ready to boil, because of higher pressure, to start to boil and build up steam under ground. The pressure caused from the steam to break up the areas that held the water, and the water flowed out from the ground as part of the water that flooded the earth.

Black smokers can have water up to 750 degrees F, but yet not boil because of the tremendous pressures found in deep oceans.[6] But if you remove that pressure (like when the canopy fell), the water would turn into steam, which does expand, and would come out of the ground with a lot more force. Force that would be beyond Old faithful of Yellowstone National Park.[7]

Water in a car's radiator is held in by the radiator cap. This cap is actually a pressure regulated cap that has a spring that is usually set between 9-16 PSI (works like the canopy would). This raises the pressure in the cooling system of the car, which in turn creates it's own atmospheric conditions (different from normal atmospheric conditions, like the canopy would have). The higher than normal pressure raises the boiling point of the water-antifreeze mix 10-40 degrees F. This is why a person should never remove radiator cap while engine is still hot. Dropping the pressure suddenly by removing cap while hot will make the water in radiator turn to steam and spew out and burn anyone standing near by.

So when the canopy fell, it was like removing the cap from a car's radiator. The pressure that made the water have a higher boiling point no longer exists. Therefore, all water that was over the new boiling point set by the pressure drop. Turned into steam and broke up the fountains of the deep like the Bible says.
