From CreationWiki, the encyclopedia of creation science

Jump to: navigation, search

Magnetic flux density is the expression of the strength of a magnetic field at a given point in that field. The proper quantity that allows one to predict how strong a field would be at a unit distance from that field's equator is magnetic dipole moment.

The SI unit of magnetic flux density is the tesla, named for Nikola Tesla.

The cgs unit of magnetic flux density, often reported in the astronomical literature, is the gauss.
