Type:Arc

From CreationWiki, the encyclopedia of creation science

Jump to: navigation, search

An arc is a contiguous portion of a circle. The measure of an arc as a fraction of the circumference of the circle is the measure of the central angle that subtends that arc as a fraction of the total number of degrees in a circle: 2π radians, 360 degrees, or 400 grads.

The defining unit of arc is the radian, which is that amount of plane angle that subtends an arc equal in length to the circle's radius (hence the name of this unit). This type also supports specifying arc (or plane angle) in degrees or grads, thus:

  • 57.2957795130823 deg,degree,degrees,°
  • 63.6619772367581 grad,grads
