The creation magnetic moment of any celestial body is the magnetic dipole moment that the body most likely had at the time of creation, as per the Humphreys model for the creation of celestial magnetic fields.

Calculation

This property derives from the celestial body's mass, the mass and maximum molecular dipole moment of a molecule of water, and the likely fraction of water molecules that were aligned for maximum cumulative magnetic moment at the time of creation. The model assumes that:

1. Any celestial body was composed initially of water (see II_Peter 3:5 ).
2. Immediately following the creation of the body, the water molecules fell out of alignment, but not before an electrical current established itself to maintain the field, subject to exponential decay.
3. God transmuted the water into the present composition of the body during Creation Week, on Day 3 in the case of earth and Day 4 in the case of the other bodies.

where k is the positive fraction of aligned water molecules at creation, and m is the mass of the body. The units of 0.9425 are N-m/T-kg.

k is normally assumed to be 0.25. However, the unusually great magnetic dipole moment of Jupiter requires k=1.
